SEGRA announces new format and annual Summit

The annual SEGRA Conference will transition this year to a National Regional and Economic Development Summit, to be held 26-27 July in Toowoomba, Queensland.

Foundation Directors will be building upon the strong history and networks of SEGRA during this transition and gratefully acknowledge the effort, time and energy dedicated to the SEGRA cause over the past 27 years.

We will move towards a National Summit which will dedicate one full day to a participatory process with Summit attendees.

Day one of the Summit will follow the format of Think.Discuss.Act. through which professional facilitators will enable attendees from across the country to verbally contribute their ideas, challenges, solutions and questions with each other as well as key government, not for profit and private industry decision makers.

The SEGRA Foundation is keen to work with Summit attendees to amplify solutions that are already working in rural, remote and regional Australia, or in their infancy stage and seek a series of agreed commitments for the Foundation to pursue over the next 12 months.

Day two of the Summit will feature a variety of speakers, case studies, thought leaders, research and project presentations that are or can contribute to the sustainable economic growth of regional Australia.

We are calling for expressions of interest to present, speak on a panel or host a workshop. Expressions of interest close on the 17 April 2023.

The Foundation, in partnership with our Toowoomba Summit Working Group, look forward to hosting you in July. The Summit promises to be an exciting opportunity for individuals and groups to contribute to the future of regional and economic development in Australia.
