Where do regions sit in the national agenda?
Last year saw the release of the federal house of representatives committee on regional development and decentralisation document ‘Regions at the Ready’ identifying four discernible categories for Federal Government investment in regional Australia:
- Investments that maintain the status quo;
- Catalytic investment that attract further investment;
- Investment in capacity building of rural communities – education, training and leadership
- Investment in human capital including the employment of people to design and deliver; services in rural communities.
The SEGRA National Steering Committee is looking for papers that demonstrate innovative approaches to deliver against these four categories.
The SEGRA Conference, Australia’s premier regional conference, will be held in Barooga NSW 20-22 August 2019. To find out more please visit the call for papers page.
