Conversation 28 - What is Kalgoorlie-Boulder all about?
SEGRA has set up a series of webinars called “A Conversation for Regional Australia about COVID-19” as a forum for those who live, work and invest in regional, rural and remote Australia. The goal of the webinars is to enable regions to get a greater understanding of the issues and pool their ideas and initiatives to ride out the storm. Impacts will be felt across health, the broader economy, education, business, lifestyle and our social fabric.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been a hub for mining and innovation since gold was first discovered there in 1893, and has continued to evolve and grow as the industry has progressed, pivoting and thriving during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this webinar, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker will outline the challenges, growth and excitement that this outback mining city has experienced over the past 12 months, and how Kalgoorlie-Boulder is stepping up to move forward in a post-COVID world.
Webinar 28 speakers:
- Kate Charters, Chair, SEGRA
- John Walker, Chief Executive Officer, City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder
