Conversation 19 Webinar, The Impact of COVID-19 on the Future of Australia’s Regional Coastlines - A Conversation for Regional Australia about COVID-19
SEGRA has set up a series of webinars called “A Conversation for Regional Australia about COVID-19” as a forum for those who live, work and invest in regional, rural and remote Australia. The goal of the webinars is to enable regions to get a greater understanding of the issues and pool their ideas and initiatives to ride out the storm. Impacts will be felt across health, the broader economy, education, business, lifestyle and our social fabric.
In this webinar, we will be exploring the impact of COVID-19 on the future of Australia’s Regional Coastlines. Australia’s coastal industries contribute billions of dollars to local, state, and national economies and provide employment for hundreds of thousands of people.
On our panel, we will be talking with Professor Paul Burton and Angus Jackson who are currently part of the bid team for the Thriving Coasts CRC that aims to drive economic growth and recovery, helping to advance productive and sustainable industries, and build long-term resilience in Australia’s vital coastal communities.
Webinar 19 speakers:
- Kate Charters, Chair, SEGRA
- Robert Prestipino, Principal, Vital Places
- Angus Jackson, CEE, International Coastal Management
- Paul Burton, Chair in Urban Planning and Management, Griffith University
